AI Footwear Product Photography: Side, Sole, and On-Foot Shots
Footwear product photography for Shopify shoe brands. Watch a live demo build packshot, side, three-quarter, sole, on-foot, and material detail.
Footwear product photography is a shape problem. One hero angle hides the side line, the sole, and how the shoe sits on a foot. Shoppers who care about tread look for the sole on purpose. If it is missing, they assume you are hiding it. The footwear pack is packshot, side, three-quarter, sole, on foot, and material detail.
The demo walks that pack inside the Product studio UI, from the catalog pick through the Shopify push.

How a footwear shot pack is built
- Pick the shoe from the brand. The cover of the card is the product photo.
- Assign angles. The hero or side photo is the front slot. The outsole, if you have it, is the back slot. Leather, mesh, or stitch is the close-up.
- Confirm the six shots. Turn sole off only when you truly have no outsole reference. Guessed tread is worse than a missing frame.
- Generate and review silhouette, sole, and on-foot crop.
- Push to Shopify with the packshot or three-quarter first, then side, on foot, sole, and detail.
Where each shoe photo belongs
- Packshot is the listing image: shoe centered, no person.
- Side is the full silhouette, last and sole line included.
- Three-quarter shows toe and side together. This is the usual hero.
- Sole is the outsole only.
- On foot is cropped at the ankle or mid-calf so the shoe stays the subject.
- Detail is material: leather, mesh, or stitch.
Sandals and boots use the same six jobs. Skip a frame that does not match the construction. See also apparel photography and bags.

Frequently asked questions
What angles do shoe product photos need?
At least a three-quarter or packshot, a true side, an on-foot crop, and the sole. A material close-up helps on leather and mesh.
Can AI make a sole photo if I did not shoot the outsole?
Do not ask it to invent tread. Upload the sole, or leave that shot off.
Will the shoe shape stay consistent across angles?
Each frame uses your reference photos. Check the side against the source before you publish.
Do I need a model for on-foot shots?
No. The on-foot frame is generated from the shoe photo and cropped so the shoe remains the subject.
What should be the first Shopify image?
The packshot or the three-quarter, so the collection grid is comparable across SKUs.
Does this work for kids shoes and heels?
Yes. Turn off a frame that does not apply, and keep the sole honest.
Can I export for a marketplace that wants a white background?
Yes. Download the pack, or push the packshot as the main image. Amazon-style main images should be checked against that channel's rules before you upload.
How do I stop color drift on white sneakers?
White shoes show drift quickly. Compare the generated pair to your photo and regenerate the frame that shifts.
Is this a replacement for a lookbook?
It is the catalog set. A lookbook with styling and location is a separate shoot.
Can I queue every colorway?
Paid plans can queue one pack per product. Each colorway should use its own photos, not a recolor of another SKU.
How is this different from an ad generator?
The pack fills the product gallery. Ads are made after you know which frame is the hero. Overview: AI product photography.
